How to do it — start on the left, finish on the right

Left is the start. Right is the finish. Match the shape, then add load.

How to handle weight

8–12 each side. Small plates. Match both arms. If one side fails, both sides use that load.

3–4 × 8–12 each side.

Caution

The friendliest overhead. Ribs down. Finish over the ear-line, not as a front raise. Half-kneeling if standing still sways.

Setup

Bar in a landmine, half-kneeling or standing, press up and slightly forward.

Cues

  • Ribs down
  • Finish over the ear-line, not into a front raise
  • Squeeze glute on the working side

Common mistakes

  • Turning it into a push-up on the bar
  • No brace
  • Rushing the eccentric
