How to do it — start on the left, finish on the right

Left is the start. Right is the finish. Match the shape, then add load.

Hinge

Good Morning

Loaded hinge with the bar on the back. Light until the pattern is ugly-proof.

advancedCult Gym floor

Hamstrings · Back · Glutes · Barbell

How to handle weight

Start with an empty bar or a goblet. Add kilos slower than any other hinge.

Usual programming

3 × 6–10, conservative.

Caution

Light until the pattern is ugly-proof. Brace first. This is not a squat. Skip it if the back is already fried from deadlifts.

Setup

Bar on the back, brace, hips back, slight knee bend, stand.

Cues

  • Brace first
  • Don’t round
  • Stop when hamstrings say so

Common mistakes

  • Squatting it
  • Too much load too soon
  • Neck looking up
